Mentone CC receives 2016 Volunteer Grant for purchase of Heavy Duty Covers Trolley
Date of Event : Wed May 3, 2017 7:37AM

Fantastic news this morning with confirmation Mentone CC have been successful in our application for a Department of Social Services 2016 Volunteer Grant. In a letter received from the Director of Community Programs and Volunteering, Lynne Clune, Mentone CC were informed that our application to purchase a large, heavy duty covers trolley, to safely transport our matchday covers to and from the equipment shed at Hogben-Meckiff reserve, was approved.

Our thanks to the Dept of Social Services, and to the following two people who joined our application with letters of support outlining the important role Mentone CC plays in supporting our community & its volunteers:

Tim Richardson MP, Member for Mordialloc

Warren Griffin, Head of Cricket Southern Bayside who wrote a supporting letter detailing the importance of volunteers within the cricketing community

Mentone CC is fortunate to have many volunteers donate their time and efforts over & above a playing capacity, and we are thrilled to not only make their efforts more efficient but to attract new volunteers through the purchasing of essential equipment.
